2019 Board Trainings

Tuesday, February 19 -  Understanding Your Governing Documents

Many board member questions can be answered with one sentence "You need to see what your governing documents say." But what if the documents are vague or don't address a situation? What if they are outdated? What if the state statues contradict your documents? We'll examine the different parts of the governing documents and point out where you can look for answers. This seminar will help you learn how to interpret, enforce and amend your governing documents. Click here for the registration flyer.

Tuesday, May 7 - Better Boards

We'll review the roles and responsibilities of the board officers and members at large, including fiduciary responsibilities. We'll learn how to keep bard meetings on track, and how to increase civility and productivity at your meetings. We'll examine the division of labor between the board and the manager, and how to manage expectations. We'll give you tips on how to make sure everyone is on the same page. This is a must attend session for new and returning board members. Click here for the registration flyer.

Thursday, September 26 - The NEW! Real Scoop-Edu Tradeshow

A full-day conference and tradeshow with multiple sessions, networking lunch, breakouts, an extensive product show, and entertainment - topped off with a Happy Hour and raffle prizes. Mark your calendar and watch for details closer to the date.

Tuesday, November 5 - Managing the Association's Finances

We'll review budgeting basics for both operations and reserves, tax filing requirements and procedures for reviews and audits. We'll talk about how to work with an outside accountant, your management company and your bank. We will discuss the role and responsibility of the association's treasurer, and the financial responsibility of all the board members. Click here for the registration flyer.

NOTE:  The member cost for board trainings is $10; and for non-members: $25. Register online by following the instructions below.
