The goal of the Operating Expense Survey is to gather the most statistically accurate data on as many Minnesota multi-family properties as possible. We are collecting 2021 expense information for properties in the seven-county metro area and in buildings with 40 or more units. Each property survey should take ten minutes or less to complete.

The spreadsheet includes multiple expense categories all sortable by field. Details include the age of buildings, elevators, parking, market-rate or affordable, and a breakout for each utility and whether it's RUBS or owner provided.

This survey is conducted every year with the previous year's data. The survey summary for 2021 operating expenses will be published in 2022.
