Self-Study Course + In-Person Exam
There is no classroom instruction associated with this program. Study materials are provided electronically in advance, and participants prepare independently before attending the proctored exam.
Improper identification and use of refrigerants can damage or destroy HVAC equipment, lead to personal injury, and cause serious environmental damage. EPA Section 608 Technician Certification is required by law to work on building air conditioning and refrigeration systems or handle refrigerants.
How Self-Study Works
Once you have registered and paid in full, you will receive a packet of study materials electronically via email. Study on your own, at your own pace, and then attend the in-person proctored exam. Exam results are provided directly by the testing agency.

Registration is required in advance to allow sufficient study time and timely access to course materials. Early registration is strongly recommended.

Course-Specific Cancellation Policy
Registration fees are non-refundable and final. Registrations cannot be transferred to another course, substituted to another participant, or cancelled for a refund. If you do not attend and wish to participate in a future exam offering, a new exam registration fee will be required. Retake exams are available for $65 per retake.
